Wanna lose weight then meditate.

Meditation has many benefits besides just making you feel relaxed. It can lower your blood pressure, give you a break from the busy chatter in your head, boosts the immune system, helps to overcome depression, and much much more.

I found an article today on meditation that explains how this simple practice can actually help you loose weight. When your body is under stress the adrenals go into overtime releasing cortosal in the body that causes the body to hold on to fat for emergency fuel. Breathing deeply and meditating can help your body avoid stress therefore avoid the fat collecting signal from the release of cortosal.

Now the article suggests breathing in to a count of 10 seconds then holding the breath for 10 seconds then exhale to a count of 10 seconds. Unless you are adept at this breathing, you may find 10 seconds to be a little on the long side. Never force your breath or this will cause disturbance in the body. Instead try adjusting the count to one that suits your individual breathing capacity. In my yoga class I usually have them inhale to a count of 7 seconds (or 7 heart beats), then hold for 7 and then exhale to 7. So experiment and find what count works best for you.
