Karuna Reiki
Curiousity got the best of me. I took a Karuna Reiki I class yesterday and thought I would share my thoughts. It is definitely different energy than Usui's traditional Reiki system. It swirls every where and it's really near impossible to direct. It is also very intense and by the time I got home, I was ready for a nap. Usui's system has never made me feel tired so I am very curious about this.
I will say that before the class started I did feel and see a large swirl of energy all around me and I heard a voice say, "We are here." I told the teacher and she explained that Karuna is a feminine energy and it swirls and that the Usui Reiki energy is masculine and is a direct flow.
The teacher said that Karuna is more expansive and is a bigger part of the Universal Life Force Energy but I don't think I agree with that. Perhaps my mind will change after I take the next two classes but right now I feel it is just a different part of the Universal Life Force energy.
I did connect with Merlin during the attunement process and I've never connected with him before. Merlin (St. Germain) is one of the ascended masters that interacts with Karuna Reiki. The others are Mother Mary, Jesus, Kuan Yin, the laughing Buddha, Archangel Gabriel and Michael along with other angels. She said the list was not limited to the above ascended masters and angels but those are the main ones.
Karuna Reiki is not meant to replace Usui's system but to enhance it. The symbols have a very wide variety of uses for each one and the uses for each aren't necessarily connected.
The four symbols I learned yesterday are to be done in sequence at the start of a session and then Usui's symbols are drawn after. She meantioned that there are times when the Karuna symbols can be used at other times and can be used independently of the others and not necessarily in order. Sounds very feminine to me with no hard and fast rules.
Anyway, that's my assessment so far.
